Free damage inspection
After a storm hits your area, contact Del Mar Construction for a free, no-obligation damage inspection. We inspect your roof system, gutters, siding, fascia and windows for storm-related damage, to determine whether there is enough suspected damage for your insurance company to take a closer look.
After the inspection our representative sits down with you and presents the findings with detailed pictures. We also help you read your policy, which confuses many homeowners, and find your deductible: your out-of-pocket cost if the insurance company approves the claim.
- Step 2
File the claim
Next, contact your insurance carrier and file a claim. We know the claim filing process well and will help you contact the carrier and provide the information it needs.
Once the claim is filed you get a claim number, and an insurance adjuster calls to set a date and time to inspect the property. It always helps to have a roofing professional like Del Mar there, so nothing is overlooked and you get a fair assessment of the damages.
- Step 3
Understand the paperwork
When Del Mar and the adjuster reach a final determination of the damage, the adjuster leaves a scope of work, your insurance papers. These can be very confusing to a homeowner.
We sit down with you to make sure you understand the paperwork, finalize a plan, pick out quality materials and go over warranty options. The insurance company pays for all work outlined in the insurance papers, minus the deductible.

The work, and the walkthrough
Once the claim is finalized, Del Mar Construction starts the work outlined in the contract. When it is complete, our quality control inspector inspects the work and walks through it with you to make sure you are satisfied.
Once you are happy with the project, Del Mar submits the necessary paperwork to the insurance company and requests any remaining balance.
